The Art of a Break-up

This collaboration with an ex-girlfriend, who lives on the opposite coast, is a double exposure project and a peacemaking endeavor after a breakup that occurred almost two years ago. I shot a roll of film documenting my daily life and a few things that related to memories of the failed relationship, then mailed the roll of film to said ex-girlfriend on the west coast for her to do the same on the same roll of film. I suggested the idea as an experiment in juxtaposing our separate lives, and as a way to express acceptance of our different paths. The final result is a small collection of images that show both dissonance and harmony in our present lives and our memories.
